Blossman Gas & Appliance, one of America's largest, independent propane companies has the immediate need for an IT Business Analyst at our Home Office in Ocean Springs, MS. Our company was founded in 1951 at a single location in Gulfport, MS. We have steadily grown over the years to now include more than 1,100 employees serving 150,000 customers from more than 85 retail locations in 13 states. We continue to be an industry leader in safety, technology, and the broad utilization of propane a safe, reliable, domestic fuel option for homes, businesses, and fleets. We sell, install, and repair all types of gas appliances and equipment which continue to be a growing portion of our business. Fleet fuel (AutoGas) continues to provide steady growth as well as we support our fleet customers throughout North America.

The IT Business Analyst works closely with the VP of IT and other stakeholders to understand business needs, analyze processes, and identify opportunities for technological improvements to aid our growing retail business. This on-site, in-person position regularly leverages tools like Microsoft Copilot to build AI virtual assistants and improve business efficiency. Research gathering, data analysis, and solutions recommendations that align with business objectives are regular parts of the job.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Effective communication and collaboration ability (regular cross-functional teamwork on projects and initiatives which include presenting findings and making recommendations)
• Commitment to continuous improvement including remaining updated on industry trends, technology, and best IT and AI practices; participate in ongoing professional development to remain up-to-date on technology
• Project management and reporting (manage projects related to business analysis from inception to completion)

The position qualifications include:

1. Earned bachelor's degree in IT, Business, Computer Science, or other related field
2. Three to five years of Business Analyst experience in IT with some exposure to AI technologies
3. Prior experience with Microsoft Copilot or similar AI development tools
4. Strong analytical and solutions skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to remain successful in this position
6. Ability to thrive amongst numerous stakeholders including senior and local management
7. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools
8. Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools
9. Proficiency with MS Office tools and MS Teams
10. Ability to live and work on-site in Ocean Springs, MS
