As a Dangerous Goods Logistics Specialist, you will join our Supply Chain team at the McHenry, Mississippi location. The right person for this role has excellent organization skills as well as great attention to detail, customer service skills, and dangerous goods packaging, storage, and shipping expertise. Responsibilities Obtain and Maintain all relevant HAZMAT / DG Shipping Certifications (IATA/ICAO/IMDG/49CFR) Ensure HAZMAT shipments are packaged, marked, and labeled per the relevant regulations Familiar with mil standard packaging and part marking requirements Determine method of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, rates and routes Complete Bill of Ladings and hazardous materials shipping documentation for all shipments Maintain all shipment paperwork per the company's record retention policies Process shipping and receiving at McHenry, Mississippi as needed and arrange freight from all locations as required Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, labeling, loading, and securing product Obtain all freight packaging quotes to contract and class code requirements Key person to ensure material movement across sites is accurately transacted for each move Ensure orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product for final distribution Complete cycle counts and conduct all warehouse activities with inventory accuracy as a top priority Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signal machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks and loading docks Expedite flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules Ensure the adherence to corrective and preventive action standards as well as being actively involved in the root cause analysis and agreement of corrective and preventive actions for severe and reoccurring incidents, audit findings, KPI deviations etc Creation of local process documentation, standard operating procedures, and policies Continuous Improvement: pinpointing key areas for impactful advancements within the organization Familiar with FAR/DFARS and ITAR Responsible for planning all inbound and outbound freight and packaging planning for dangerous goods and HazMat shipments of materials to include packaging plans, pricing, and booking Required Qualifications Currently certified / previously certified through an IATA approved course for hazmat air shipping Currently certified / previously certified through an IMDG approved course for hazmat vessel shipping Currently certified / previously certified for hazmat ground shipping through a DOT approved course Experience packaging, handling, & shipping dangerous goods and HazMat by all modes of transport 5+ years leadership and/or project management experience 3+ years forklift experience, licensed 3+ years Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and/or other warehouse management and inventory control and shipping software Familiarity of inventory management with Lot, Serial, and Batch tracking at high mix, high production volumes Familiar with Microsoft Office or equivalent office management tooling Excellent customer service skills Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently Valid driver's license Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance Skills & Competencies Transportation & logistics industry experience focused in packaging and transport of HazMat and dangerous goods Excellent problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams Organizational skills (prioritize, plan, assign and control) Network and relationship building and high level of influencing people skills Communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a diverse environment and with different cultures Ability to motivate others US Salary Range $1 - $1 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
