A bit about us:

Full Time Controller needed for growing Construction company! We have offices in Butler, MO, as well as Joplin, MO, and we're an in the office company so we prefer for you to work on-site in either location.

This is a position that is open due to growth. Down the road you'll most likely work this into a CFO role. We're expecting to do 7 million this year and 50 million within the next 5 years as far as revenue.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Controller, your primary duties will include:

1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
2. Preparing, examining, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
3. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting variances, and preparing business activity reports, financial position forecasts, and annual budgets.
4. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
5. Coordinating the provision of information to external auditors for annual audits.
6. Evaluating and managing risk, developing and maintaining internal controls, and safeguarding the organization's assets.
7. Advising management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
8. Evaluating financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or professional accreditation such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting role, with a strong understanding of financial trends both within the company and in the general market.
3. Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
4. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
5. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
6. Ability to strategize and solve problems.
7. Strong ethics, with a customer-oriented approach.
8. Excellent communication and people skills.
