Full-Time/Regular POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Fabrication Team Leader, this position willbe performingvarious structural weldsand basic fitting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: & Consistently weldstructuraland carbonsteel in3G, 4G, and2F fillet weld using FCAW, GMAW, and GMAW-spray. & Operate safety equipment and use safe work habitsincluding, but not limitedto:forklifts, overhead cranes, etc. & Basic knowledge oflay out, positioning, aligning, and securingparts and assemblies prior to assembly. & Examinework piecesfor defects and measurework pieceswith straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. & Recognize, set up, andoperatehand and power tools common to the welding trade. & Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend,grindor boltcomponentparts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. & Consistently pass non-destructive (x-ray,etc) examinations of FCAW welds on required products. & Regular attendancein accordance withthe attendance policy. & Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and workin accordance withestablishedsafetyand companyrequirements. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: & Provide personal tools according to the department tool list. & Perform set-up, material handling duties, and minor general maintenance. & Responsible for area housekeeping. & Promote a positive working environmentin order toachieve the organizations goals. & Perform other duties as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an uncontrolled atmosphere.Exposure to harsh conditionssuch as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures.Potential exposureto jobsites; living accommodations may vary depending on project. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.While performing the dutiesof this position, the employeeis regularly requiredtowalk, stand, use hands andfingers,grip,handle or feel; reach with hands and arms;climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl;and talk and hear.Abilityto lift and carry 50lbs.on a regular basis is required.Must be able tostand/walk 90% of the time and sit 10% of the time. KNOWLEDGE/SKILL /ABILITY/ EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: & High School Diploma or G.E.D. ispreferred. & Certification or degree in welding from a technical school program strongly preferred. & One (1) or more years of welding experience is strongly preferred. & Ability to passwelding certifications for structural isrequired; includes ability to FCAW weld in 3G(vertical) & 4G(overhead)positionand topass avisual andbend test. & Ability toweld in2F, 3G, and 4Gpositionsusing FCAW, GMAW and GMAW-sprayand topass avisual andbend teston these processes. & Must be able to consistently execute high quality FCAW, GMAW, GMAW-spray welds. & Beginning level abilityto read printsand other technical documentsisrequired. & Strong math skills arerequired. & Strong analytical andproblem solvingskills arerequired. & High levelof energy and motivation. & Ability to work flexible hours including, but not limited to, frequent and mandatory overtime, weekends, and some holidays are required. & Mustpossessthe ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment. & Mustcomply with core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business andmaintainsound relationships among and with employees
