Warehouse Associate I

Fabric Department

REPORTS TO: Section Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Full-Time

SCHEDULE: NightShift: Mon-Thurs 3:30pm - 2:00am

Many think we are a company that makes quilts (because of our name), but that's not the case! We offer a variety of services to our world-wide customers:

• A large on-line selection of products and "tools" customers need to inspire creativity such as fabrics, sewing machines, sewing notions / patterns.
• Online education through our own tutorials and Block Magazine.
• Over a dozen brick and mortar shops located in downtown Hamilton, MO.
• As well as Machine quilting and quilt binding services that are available to help complete their masterpiece!

Because of our successes, over the past 15 years we have been given honors such as: small business of the year, making the front page of the Wall Street Journal, and have had feature stories written about us from the likes of Forbes, NPR, Google, The Today Show, MSNBC's Main Street USA, and the NBC Nightly News. Pretty cool, huh?

What will you do?

• While you may start your career by filling orders in the Fabric Department you may be asked to help in other departments as well all while performing at a satisfactory productivity level and keeping safety and quality in mind at all times.
• Restock, replenish, and move inventory correctly
• Develop the ability to receive incoming shipments
• Lend assistance in the Quilting department (e.g. trimming, staging, binding, checking in quilts, shipping quilts) during peak periods
• Overtime may be required based upon business needs

Successful attributes needed?

• Computer and handheld technology adept
• Reading and comprehension
• Able to work in a fast paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames
• Willingness to learn and welcomes change while being flexible
• Able to multitask and work independently with strong time management skills
• Able to take initiative, look for solutions, and accomplish requested results
• Maintain regular and acceptable attendance as set by the company and comply with dress code requirements
• Perform general warehouse duties as needed and work overtime as required during peak periods

Do I need to join a gym?

• You won't be asked to run a race, but this position is primarily standing and walking for long periods of time
• Squatting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling on a frequent basis
• Frequently lifting up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds (with assistance)
• Repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and/or fingers while operating a keyboard or use of a rotary cutter
• Able to navigate ladders or step stools as needed
