"KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Job Description Job Title: District Substitute Job Title Code: 00902 Salary Grade: $26.25 per hour Department: Human Resources Reports To: Building Administrator FLSA: Non Exempt Date Prepared: July 23, 2021 We are currently accepting applications for District Substitutes for the School Year. JOB DUTIES: Perform the classroom duties of an absent teacher. Prepare and execute course of study as prepared by Classroom Teacher, Building Administrator. Manage the classroom so that curriculum guidelines/requirements are fulfilled. Lecture, demonstrate, and use appropriate teaching aids to present subject matter to the students. Prepare, administer and/or correct assignments and tests. Record grades, attendance, academic achievement. Assist as directed by the building administration (Including clerical, cafeteria, bus duty, etc.). Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must have completed a minimum of 36 semester hours of credit from a regionally accredited, academic degree-granting, college or university or complete 20 hours of online training via Frontline Education. Must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Must hold a Valid Content Substitute Certificate at the time of hire. Must pass the pre-employment background investigation.
