CDD is a non-profit community-based organization that supports individuals with developmental disABILITIES in their own homes throughout the Kansas City Metropolitan area. We have been doing this for over 50 years with the goal of adding 50+ more in our sight. Speaking of goals, CDD offers incentives based on meeting agency-wide goals as well as differentials for homes that are behavioral, high medical needs, and for shifts that occur on Saturday and Sunday.

All Direct Support Professionals must have a Class E driver license in Missouri or a Class C driver license in Kansas, proof of auto insurance in your name for a reliable and legal form of transportation, and proof of education.

Now that we've introduced ourselves, lets give you a rundown of what you'll be doing.
  • Conduct training as outlined in Person Centered Plans to include but not limited to hygiene care, monitoring clothing care and use, meal planning, cooking, budgeting and shopping;
  • Complete T-Logs during each shift worked;
  • Monitors individuals' Person Center Plans to ensure accurate implementation, on-going progress, and timely and accurate required documentation;
  • Completes necessary documentation needed for the Annual Person Centered Plan packets;
  • Supervise and monitor individuals in taking medications and obtaining medical treatment for illness or injuries;
  • Check homes and/or apartments for overall maintenance needs and documents needed repairs;
  • Assists with completing domestic duties when an individual refuses, is unable, or does not complete the duties in a satisfactory manner which include but is not limited to vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathroom and kitchen areas, laundry, etc;
  • Transport individuals to and from day programs, community outings, doctor's appointments, grocery stores, etc;
  • Perform accurate time and attendance procedures by clocking in and out of shifts as required;
  • Provides companionship, emotional support, behavioral crisis intervention, and behavioral counseling to individuals
