Job description

The position involves conducting routine testing in the Analytical Services laboratory to provide analytical data for various purposes such as process control, quality control, and product development. The role requires flexibility in working shifts, including weekends as the laboratory operates 24/7. The days off for the applicant have not been determined. All applicants for this position should be open to working any days of the week including weekends.

Start time Night Shift; 8pm - 6:30am

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Scientific Field

  • Understands basic HPLC and GC operation is preferred

    SKILLS

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze outcomes against set standards.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in diagnosing instrument problems independently.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload effectively, and optimize laboratory productivity.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine analytical testing on samples using a variety of physical and chemical analytical techniques.

  • Operate and maintain sophisticated analytical equipment including pH meters, spectrophotometers, gas chromatographs, and more.

  • Conduct microbiological tests to determine spore counts and contamination levels.

  • Utilize laboratory information management systems and other instrument-specific computer systems for data acquisition.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.

  • Train others on waste management procedures and ensure compliance with hazardous waste regulations.

  • Complete daily instrument calibrations, inspections, and recordkeeping tasks.

  • Collaborate with team members to address issues and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Completion of initial RCRA hazardous waste training within 6 months of starting the job will be expected.
