POSITION SUMMARY: The Controller is responsible for planning and directing accounting operations while ensuring the integrity of accounting information. This position will help in reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledgers within several entities and assist in month-end close procedures. This is an important role within the accounting team and provides a great opportunity for professional growth. The Controller will develop and complete critical steps in the Company's various accounting processes and financial reporting processes. In fulfilling these responsibilities, this individual is required to work effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization and to collaborate with individuals across functional areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

  • Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.

  • Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.

  • Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

  • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.

  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

  • Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.

  • Previous experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred.

  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of standard financial / accounting procedures, GAAP concepts and principles, and internal control.

  • Experience with financial systems for invoicing, credit/collections, expense reporting and general ledger required.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle detail-oriented tasks Strong written and verbal communication skills.ERP system proficiency, SAP Business One preferred.

  • Technical ability and adaptability; Knowledge working in Microsoft Suite

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

  • Able to travel as needed.
