Volt is immediately hiring for a Lead Electrical Engineer-Electrical Component & Obsolescence Management in Berkeley, MO Position Type: Full Time(Contract)
Duration: 6 Months Contract, Possible Conversion into Direct Hire
Location: Berkeley, MO-Onsite
As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will: Position Responsibilities:
Electrical/Component and Assembly:
• Applies engineering knowledge of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components in evaluation of components for assembly and subassembly repair/design.
• Directly supports Sub-contractors and Suppliers to ensure their electronic components are qualified for Company usage per the contract and the Parts Management Plan.
• Understanding of Aircraft and Weapons design/requirements to recommend the correct Alternate electrical components for new product development and legacy programs.
• Represents Company on Electrical and Electronic Component National Committees.
• Uses Project Management tools to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements.
• Incorporates Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) lab testing and qualification.
• Leads, establishes work statements, defines strategies, and/or provides consultation with peers while keeping management informed. Electrical Obsolescence and DMSMS:
• Conducts proactive obsolescence forecasting and monitoring using Component Monitoring and Surveillance Tools, Predictive Obsolescence Systems, OEM/Supplier surveys, etc.
• Monitors Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) alerts and provide obsolescence status reports to the programs and Department of Defense (DoD) customers (Navy, Air Force, Army, etc.).
• Develops obsolescence mitigation possibilities and business case analyses supporting recommended resolution options.
• Prepares presentation material to communicate DMSMS Case issues and proposed resolutions to customers and programs.
• Leads periodic DMSMS meetings with internal and external DoD and Industry Customers on Company programs.
• Prepares / Presents customer contractual deliverable plans and required reports.
• Manages obsolescence management processes within Product/Program IPTs.
• Leads/ Supports enterprise teams with other BR&T SMEs from across the Company enterprise.
• Understanding of Aircraft and Weapons design/requirements to recommend new and Alternate electrical components for new product development and legacy programs.
• Represents St. Louis site/programs at Company enterprise DMS meetings.
• Develops technical and cost proposals.
• Develops Counterfeiting Testing to define probability of electrical components being counterfeit.
• Reviews/Edits draft program Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable documents.
• Reviews and assists in the implementation of DoD Parts Management Program (PMP) requirements, ensuring the integrity and appropriate use of parts per specified application requirements.
• Maintains and implements improvements/choices in software tools used to support DMSMS activities.
• Assists programs in identifying and mitigating obsolescence risks. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• 12+ years' experience with parts obsolescence management, assessment & monitoring on Circuit Card Assemblies.
• 12+ years' experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Active DOD Secret Clearance.
• 18+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Electrical Assembly.
• Experience as a Component Engineer.
• Experience with DoD programs.
• Experience with Military Standards and Specifications.
• Experience with Failure Analysis tools and techniques. Pay Range: $90-$105 per hour
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
