Role: Technical Customer Service Leader

Location: Washington, MO (On-Site)


Description

The Technical Customer Service Leader oversees the installation and field testing of Power Transformers (PT), addresses and resolves warranty claims, and provides full responses to requests for spare parts for Power & Distribution Transformers (DT). This role enforces internal and external policies and procedures and interacts with customers regarding PT & DT warranty claims, service, or parts questions and requests. Additionally, it continuously monitors the performance of external contractors during and after designated services to ensure customer satisfaction and contractual compliance.

Position Overview

This role enforces internal and external policies and procedures and interacts with customers regarding PT & DT warranty claims, service, or parts questions and requests. Additionally, it continuously monitors the performance of external contractors during and after designated services to ensure customer satisfaction and contractual compliance.


Responsibilities of Role

Safety & Security

- Handling every project with a "Safety First!" approach.


Installations / Inspections

- Coordinate the receiving, installing, assembling, and testing of power transformers in the field.

- Review specifications to determine technical requirements and define the scope of work.

- Conduct discussions with the customer to clearly establish their requirements.

- Obtain advice and assistance from other departments/sister-companies as appropriate.

- Cooperate with outside organizations in appropriate instances.


Engagement with Customers and Contractors

- Conduct meetings between customers, contractors, and other WEG colleagues as required.

- Coordinate with the factory and OEMs for the commissioning of special devices.

- Participate in project updates with factory PMs, customers, and contractors.

- Set up clear agendas for meetings.


Documentation Compliance

- Contract installations on or below budget.

- Document fully and promptly report when a project goes over budget.

- Update all records pertaining to each field installation and/or inspection.

- Retrieve and assess field reports from contractors.

- Submit all documents to close the project, including payments to contractors.

Requirements:

Basic

- Associate's degree from an accredited two-year college or equivalent experience.

- Knowledge of transformer operation/functionality and troubleshooting or the ability to learn.

- Ability to work with diverse groups and manage projects through to completion.

- Proficiency with computer programs, including spreadsheets and custom programs.

- Current work authorization for employment in the United States.

- Successful completion of application, talent assessment, interview, background, and drug screens.

- Safety-sensitive position: will screen for THC.

- Resides within a reasonable commuting distance of Washington, MO.

- Ability to travel to customer sites across North America, primarily the United States.


Preferred

- Extensive background in Power Transformers.

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

- Five (5) years of experience in transformer design, manufacturing, and/or service.

- Project management knowledge and/or experience.

- Knowledge of IEEE standards, such as C or the latest.

- Fluency in Spanish.
