Job description
Duties Serve as a Military Plans Specialist for Area Support Group-Jordan (ASG-J) activities. Assist the ASG-J Provost Marshal by identifying security issues and performing force protection technical inspections and surveys. Develop, implement, and update physical security and force protection plans, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Make recommendations for program improvement and provide solutions that improve the ASG-J security/protection posture. Work closely with ASG-J, Directorate of Public Works (DPW) to conduct physical security/force protection assessments on basing plan, construction plans, and renovations. Provide knowledge and experience in the preparation of Operations Plans (OPLANS), Concept Plans (CONPLANS), Operations Orders (OPORDS), Fragmentary Orders (FRAGOs) and Functional Plans. Participate in working groups with members of primary and special staff elements in ASG-J to identify real world and exercise operational requirements, develop mission, conduct course of action analysis, and prepare decision briefs to the Commander. Visit This position is designated as an Emergency Essential (E-E) position in support of mobilization and wartime mission requirements and requires the incumbent to remain in the overseas area and perform duties until relieved by the proper authority. In accordance with USCENTCOM Individual Protection and Individual-Unit Deployment Policy, MOD-17, incumbent is required to pass a pre-placement medical/dental examination and receive immunizations (including the anthrax vaccination). This position requires the incumbent to obtain an interim Secret clearance and obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance based on the duties and responsibilities identified. This position is identified as Mission Essential which may require the incumbent to work or remain at work during an emergency situation or when inclement weather has curtailed operations. Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional information Direct deposit of pay is required. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. Employees who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions. Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250 .
