Job description

Memorial Community Health, Inc. is looking to fill the position of Certified Pharmacy Technician. This position will be for either full-time or part-time dayshift with no weekends.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will utilize your expertise in LTC pharmacy, critical care, and patient service to deliver highly-quality pharmaceutical care. Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will assist and support int he daily operation of the pharmacy.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience
High school graduate or equivalent
Must be 18 years or age or older
Prior pharmacy technician experience preferred

Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:
Current registration as a pharmacy technician from the state of Nebraska prior to start date
Completion of a Certified Pharmacy Technician Program and/or National Board of Pharmacy Technician certification is required

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and distribute patient medications for pharmacist verification and approval
Access and use departmental computers to process daily routine medication fill orders, add charges/credits to patient profiles, create and print labels
Ensure correct selection of dosage, form, strength and quantity of medication supply
Prepare intravenous (IV) piggyback "mini-bag plus" and "vial-mate adaptor" preparations and label supply with proper beyond-use-dating
Package medication supply in unit dose packages with barcodes
Label medication supply according to regulatory guidelines with all appropriate information prior to pharmacist verification. This includes use of axillary and assigned beyond-use-date labels
Prepare medications supply for restocking automated dispensing machines, patient medication carts, floor stock medication areas, and clinic locations (Aurora, Clay Center Clinic, etc)
Deliver medications supply in timely manner to ensure medication availability
Maintain adequate inventory of medications and supplies
Order supplies and medications through wholesaler and alternate vendors (Baxter, FFF, etc)
Monitor supply amounts closely to avoid stockouts. Evaluate and establish appropriate stock levels to reduce waste
