Job Title: Grain Merchandising Manager

Job Summary:We are seeking a knowledgeable and results-driven Grain Merchandising Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grain merchandising, with expertise in market analysis, contract management, and supply chain logistics. As a Grain Merchandising Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing grain procurement, sales strategies, and fostering relationships with suppliers and customers.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement grain merchandising strategies to maximize profitability and market share.
  • Analyze market trends, supply and demand factors, and pricing to inform decision-making.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and customers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of grain products.
  • Maintain and build relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, brokers, and industry contacts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock to meet market demand while minimizing excess.
  • Prepare and present reports on market conditions, sales performance, and financial metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and marketing, to align merchandising strategies with company goals.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CME, GDC) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in grain merchandising or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of grain markets, pricing strategies, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with industry-specific software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
