Lincoln Regional Center is looking for (2) motivated Teammates that are skilled, detail oriented, and professional for the position of Environment of Care Specialist. In this role you will be an integral part of our Behavioral Health Division and help to ensure the safety of staff and patients at Lincoln Regional Center (LRC), a 24-hour Joint Commission accredited state psychiatric hospital. What are you waiting for Apply today Work schedule: Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm. Positions will require some weekend shifts about every 8 weeks, and will require some 2nd and 3rd shift work to complete fire safety drills. Hiring rate of position: $21.355/hr. + $3.00/hr. facility differential pay. Job Duties: Reduce and control environment hazards and risks, prevent accidents and injuries, and maintain safe conditions for patients, staff and visitors. Perform daily safety walk through of assigned building to ensure safety and security in the environment in which care is provided. Document results of daily walk throughs. Monitor and conduct audits as necessary to verify compliance with or identify gaps or risks in provision of care or within the environment in which care services are provided and provides necessary training. Conduct regulatory and accreditation drills and exercises, documentation and evaluation of such, identification and follow through with corrective measures. Review patient and staff incident injury reports, enter into database with recommendations for corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of incident. Conduct risk assessments for compliance regulatory standards. Develop agenda and facilitation of the building Environment of Care sub- committee meetings. Assist with development and revision of policies and procedures derived from standards and regulations reflected and defined in the Management Plans for the Environment, Life Safety and Emergency Management. Plan and deliver training on the above to staff. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or other building trade. Experience in building maintenance, a mechanical trade, or performing safety inspections, investigations or training may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis as determined appropriate by the agency. Other: Must have a valid driver's license. Must be 19 years of age. Knowledge of: maintenance and safety practices and procedures; occupational hazards and safety precautions followed in building maintenance operations; fire codes and fire prevention regulations and procedures. Skill in: basic office and computer skills including competency in the use of email, procurement and building system applications; the operation and preservation of maintenance tools and equipment. Ability to: communicate effectively, understand and follow instructions, read and comprehend blueprints, reference books and equipment manuals; perform skilled maintenance work in a variety of building and mechanical trades; troubleshoot and identify problems, determine materials and equipment necessary to install, repair and adjust building structures, systems and fixtures; utilize and maintain hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment safely; perform manual labor, work in tight spaces, climb ladders and scaffolding to perform work above ground; conduct inspections, identify safety hazards and educate/train others in accident prevention and safety.
