We are looking for exceptional people to provide extraordinary care as a Respiratory Therapist.

Hours: PRN (as needed)

Implements and controls the administration of all therapeutic respiratory care patient services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Responsible for administration of EKG's, ABG's, therapeutic gases, oxygen, aerosol therapy, diagnostic testing, and all aspects of continuous ventilation. Performs arterial punctures to obtain arterial blood specimens.
Performs acute and emergency respiratory care procedures, including endotracheal intubation, in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
Assists with the insertion of arterial line monitoring and performs arterial line set up, changing and removal per hospital policy.
Completes respiratory assessments and documentation as appropriate for each individual patient.
Assists with the evaluation and tracking of all respiratory patients to determine therapy effectiveness, QA opportunities, and make suggestions to doctors, nursing, and therapy staff based on patient assessment.
Assists in the development, coordination, and implementation of post-surgical ventilator weaning in conjunction with nursing staff and physicians as per hospital protocols.
Maintains, troubleshoots, and calibrates therapeutic equipment as needed. Ensures the presence and maintenance of emergency respiratory equipment.
A.S. Degree or Certificate of completion from an accredited college of Respiratory Therapy. Currently licensed to practice in the State of Nebraska as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, CRT or RRT credentials.
Current BLS required at the time of hire.
Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of employment.
Previous Respiratory Care in an acute care facility preferred. Clinical experience in mechanical ventilation and other respiratory care techniques highly desirable.
