Tact Staff is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Lincoln, Nebraska.

1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.
The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for meeting patient's priority needs by assessing, participating in interdisciplinary care planning, providing and /or delegating care and evaluating patients' responses and progress toward clinical outcomes. The Staff RN contributes to an efficient and effective work environment through activities including professional communication and documentation, preceptoring and/or resourcing of others.

The Staff RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and/or other support staff in the delivery of patient care as described in Nebraska Statute 38.
Initiates assessment and reassessment based on the patient's presenting problems/needs in accordance with BryanLGH Medical Center's procedures.
Synthesizes pertinent initial and ongoing patient data to identify nursing priorities for care and desired outcomes/goals.
Integrates appropriate standards of care into the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis and age-specific needs.
Executes therapeutic and/or supportive interventions.
Provides education for the patient and family to meet identified patient needs according to their needs, abilities, preferences and readiness to learn.
Evaluates the patient's response to and effectiveness of interventions.
Evaluates patient's progress toward established outcomes.
Incorporates cultural considerations into the plan/delivery of care.
Includes family or significant others in the care of the patient as appropriate.
Documents patient care and related information according to BryanLGH Medical Center procedures for documentation.
Provides care in conjunction with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Facilitates patient's transition to the next level of care.
Actively participates in continued learning opportunities and continued self-development pertinent to the work unit and duties of the job

2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
EChart computerized charting, MAK scanning medication administration, PACS radiology viewing system, Vocera communication technology, & Pyxis medication storage.

3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Must provide evidence of certification and/or instruction for practice area as required by State or Federal standards/regulations. Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.

4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
Basic Life Support (CPR) is required.

5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
Day & night 12 hour shifts. Weekend requirements is at least every 3rd weekend, but could be up to every other weekend. Employee will never work alone.

6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
Yes. If we don't need you on our unit you would be asked to go to other patient units on East & West Campus.

7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
18 beds

8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)

General care 4:1; PCU 3:1

9. Dress Code:
Royal blue top & black scrub bottoms.

10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
Three days of orientation. First day getting general requirments & then the next two shifts on unit/shift you will work on.
