Job description

We are looking for a Dental Hygienist, beginning on October 1st, who is willing to work 4 or 4 1/2 days during the week. The hours offered are 7-4 p.m. or 8-5 p.m. If you're looking for more hours/days, we are also open on Fridays from 9-2. Our hygienists have ample chair time for new and current patients as well as a 1-hour lunch time. There will a dedicated OP for our new hire. We are offering a hiring bonus for the right candidate. Duties would include conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. You would be assisting our dentists' in deciding treatments for teeth or gum disease. As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies.

Responsibilities
Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination.
Sterilize dental instruments properly.
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history.
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis.
Clean and help protect patients' teeth.
Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques).
Take X-rays.
Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer).
Maintain digital documentation on patients.
Monitor supplies.

Skills
Proven experience as Dental Hygienist.
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPAA and Osha).
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment.
Outstanding communication skills.
A patient and friendly personality.
Attention to detail.
Diploma in Dental Hygiene.
Valid license to practice.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $44.00 - $48.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 32 per week
