Job description
Amentum is seeking a Security Manager to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Security Manager will oversee all security functions to include the development and implementation of policies, programs and training that ensures Company compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as government regulations concerning industrial security; additionally providing oversight and guidance for the security of installation physical assets in accordance with DoD contractual requirements. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Essential Responsibilities: Manage and administer the contractual industrial security programs and coordinate compliance at all levels of the organization. Advise senior management and security personnel on the impact of applicable laws and regulations on the Company's operations. Coordinate government interactions and compliance activities within the organization during and after audits initiated by government agencies. Conduct internal audits of security throughout areas of assigned facility. Develop and coordinate training programs in security education to include individual employee annual weapons qualifications, installation active shooter response, and other type terrorism that could target ammunition depot operations; recommend and procure training materials and monitor the effectiveness of related training programs. Oversee both facility and personnel security including the maintaining and management of cleared facilities and cleared personnel for the Company to ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, need to know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before granting access. Prepare department budgets and provide input for various company planning processes. Manage the security force for government facilities, personnel, classified computing systems and information in accordance with DoD Regulations and internal security policies and practices. Act as the focal point for all Information Security (INFOSEC) matters on behalf of the Designated Approving Authority (DAA) and Defense Security Services (DSS). Assist with getting classified computer approval. Establish closed and restricted areas for the performance of classified contracts. Lead and/or conduct internal investigations involving security violations, vehicle/ Equipment Accidents/Mishaps, and other type of breaches of security protocols to installation. Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Must be at least Twenty-One (21) years of age and hold a valid, state driver's license. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of academic/technical/military training. Effective Leadership and Management of personnel and equipment resources. Candidate must be able to support contingency and disaster recovery planning. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate company practices with executives, clients and employees. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have strong written and oral presentation skills. Very strong logical and analytical problem-solving skills. Strong self-initiative, with the ability to work under pressure and tight timelines. Excellent organizational skills. Proven ability to work both collectively and autonomously. Must be knowledgeable of computers and software. Must be fluent in speaking and writing, using English language. Experience in planning, evaluating, and implementing security-type programs, specifically Personal Protections, Emergency Response Teams and Guard Forces as required. Experience with collective bargaining agreements (CBA's) and unionized workforces. Experience leading projects of 200 or more personnel over $1,000,000.00 in value. This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by 29 CFR and Army Regulations: AR 190-11, AR 190-13 and DOD Contractors Safety Manual 4145.26. Preferred Qualifications: Dedicated Security Manager with 5-10 years of experience managing the security of classified DOD Facilities and geographically separated security forces. Experience will include managing Law Enforcement and/or Investigative Organizations. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Ability to occasionally work in harsh conditions; outdoors and/or in extreme temperatures. Must be able to work outside a normal schedule, when needs arise.
