This position reports to the Vice President of Preconstruction and takes direction from various project team leaders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs accurate Quantity Take-offs as assigned. Reviews, interprets, accurately estimates quantities and critically analyzes the assigned scope of work described in the project documents. Identifies and mitigates risk associated with assigned scope of work. Applies unit costs and productivity rates, as provided or directed by project lead estimator or supervisor. Uses accepted templates for the preparation of estimates and clarifications, analysis of bids, calculation of alternates and other tasks. Creates professional, accurate reports and correspondence related to this position including scope related clarifications, inter-office correspondence, e-mail, etc. Prepares subcontractor analysis sheets for assigned scopes of work. Scopes of work to include, but not limited to, electrical, structural, finishes, civil, mechanical and vertical transportation. Other Duties: Solicits, collects, and critically analyzes Subcontractor/Vendor budgets, bids or quotations associated with assigned scope of work. Directs, with the cooperation of project lead estimator and Document Control staff, the distribution of project documents and vital project information to appropriate outside resources. Visits Tutor Perini Building Corp. project sites as frequently as practical to observe construction operations at various phases and to become familiar with jobsite logistics, means and methods, and Operations personnel. Involved in Preconstruction Training Programs, becoming proficient in all aspects of Preconstruction. Assists with change order estimating, as required. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate. Use of computer equipment and software such as On-Center Software On-Screen- Take-off and Windows Operating Systems: MS Excel, MS Word and Microsoft Outlook/Exchange Knowledge estimating software. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: & Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Architectural Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering field of study. & Demonstrates good written and oral communications skills. & Must be dependable, consistent, diligent, and thorough. & Demonstrates academic knowledge of the construction industry and plan reading.
