To learn more about Mission Technologies, a division of HII, click here for a short video: Who We Are We are seeking a Virtual Adversary Training Sims (VATS) Pilot/Fighter SME as a member of the Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center - Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis, AFB, NV. The individual's primary responsibility would be to fly realistic adversary air tactics in the JITTC-N flight simulator to support of the USAF Weapons School, operational test units, and deployed combat squadrons. Additional responsibilities include operating the simulator console during missions to simulate threat representative tactics, defenses, and engagements against blue forces. The individual may also be tasked to provide subject matter expertise in mission planning, simulator academics, and operating debrief tools. This will require coordination with unit Weapons Officer/Instructor Pilots (Ips) to present realistic air picture to achieve mission training objectives. What You Will Do Operating simulation cockpits and/or console to represent synthetic real-world threats. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Simulate red air tactics and operate varying threat cockpit controls that include digital cockpit displays, stick & throttle, etc.
When required, act as Mission Director or Red Czar depending on scenario.
Operate the simulator console and debriefing system during and after missions.
Provide subject matter expertise regarding advanced air tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) during the planning and execution of JITTC-N operations.
Support the development, coordination, and integration of JITTC-N events to maximize training.
Orchestrate scenarios and constructive inputs for training events.
Create and modify mission-planning materials/academics to ensure participants achieve maximum training.
Provide instructor level expertise to help shape tactical training for participants.
Report issues related to stimulation software applications and provide basic trouble shooting support.
Supervise small groups of personnel involved in JITTC-N operations.
What You Must Have 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience.
Current or previous military pilot.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Work Environment: Position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required. Must be capable of working morning and evening shifts to accommodate flexible schedule training operations.
Clearance: DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
Bonus Points For Current or previous fighter pilot with operational air-to-air experience.
Fifth generation aircraft and system experience.
Current or previous Instructor Pilot or Flight Evaluator.
Weapons School graduate.
Experience in Joint Simulation Environment (JSE).
