Position Summary

Program Manager 2's are responsible for the execution of programs. This includes elements through complete program life cycles, up to and including daily program management. Programs include both internal programs (i.e. IRAD's) and customer/external programs (i.e. AMS, Electric Boat 5R5's, DDG-51 STAR's, Boeing APS, etc.). For both, Program Management is the primary interface.


Responsibilities

  • Organize programs and related activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
  • Working with Sales, Business Development, Engineering, Finance, and other applicable functions, develop program proposals.
  • Execute and monitor programs through the life cycle of the program(s) and related projects.
  • Create and document processes and procedures within the programs department.
  • Ensure milestones are being met across programs and related projects.
  • Develop, manage, and ensure program budgets are being met.
  • Manage risks and issues as they occur over the program life cycle and execute measures to correct them.
  • Implement and manage changes to ensure individual program goals are achieved. Ensure goals are met in all programmatic areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team performance. Ensure deliverables are aligned across projects and programs.
  • Meet with stakeholders and ensure proper and adequate communication is consistently in place
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program(s) status.
  • Coordinate potential customer growth strategies with the Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams.
  • Domestic and International travel as required to visit RIX Facilities, customers, vendors and attend seminars and training events. Up to 25% per year.
  • Performing all assignments and other duties in the best interest of the company or as directed by the Program Director and/or CPO.




Minimum Qualification

  • Four-year degree in Business, Program Management, Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university, and/or 5 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience handling project and program management methodology and techniques. Project management skills sufficient to manage simultaneous projects with varying schedule and resource requirements.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data, solve practical problems, manage risk and deal with multiple variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Exhibit and maintain a professional and positive image, and exercise solid judgement, in any situation.
  • Demonstrated practice and history of budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Strong leadership and management skills. Possess the ability and character to extract performance from others and resolve problems in innovative ways.
  • Ability to communicate with others to exchange information both orally and in writing.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22CFR 120.15. May require the ability to obtain DOD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree
  • MS or MBA in Related Field
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Must have the following physical abilities:

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, reach, and lift.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a desk or table as well as machine tools or printers.
