Job Type: Contract Schedule: Hybrid/Remote EligibleAirworthiness Engineer job is available with our client in Sparks, NV. In this role you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelors Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience. Due to the nature of the work performed in this facility, US Citizenship is required. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for advocating the exploration of space, keeping service members safe and creating the systems that keep our world united and sustain our way of living. Using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. Developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. Will be in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Systems/Software engineering principles and practices
Advanced knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airworthiness certification and compliance criteria
Advanced knowledge of safety critical flight systems
Advanced knowledge of system and subsystem risk evaluation and analyses
Experience with Design Assurance and Agile development
Experience with ARP-4761
Experience with DO-178C/DO-254
Experience with System Safety Risk Assessments (SSRA) and Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA)
Experience participating in a highly collaborative multi-disciplinary team
Experience planning and overseeing execution of airworthiness development efforts
Strong organization skills and work ethic
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB
Knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
Thorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
Advanced Knowledge of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516C
Familiarity with bi-directional traceability
Familiarity with software development processes
Familiarity with Verification, Validation, and Quality Assurance
Background in the Aerospace and/or Defense Industry
Progressive experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
