About The Role - 29929 - Manager - PMO (Winnemucca, NV)

The Manager - PMO manages the measurement and monitoring of program and project adherence to agreed scope, schedule, and budget and to provide guidance and leadership in planning and managing programs and projects to agreed scope, schedule, and budget.


• Management of the capital project programme across the Winnemucca CM site
• Establish, balance, monitor, and control the site projects to support the Asset Owner(s) and achieve their business objectives
• Manage project and engineering teams
• Compliance with Orica project and programme governance requirements

What you will be doing

The Programme role uses knowledge, experience, and leadership effectively to align the programme's approach with the organisation's strategy, improve the delivery of programme benefits, enhance collaboration with stakeholders, and manage the programme life cycle. Specifically, this includes:

• Ensure conformance to Orica SHES standards
• Setting and embedding consistent methods, standards, and processes for the Project Management Office (PMO)
• Analyses project value and contribution to Orica's overall project portfolio to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives
• Commercial acumen in the development of cost effective and robust project delivery and engineering solutions to meet stakeholder requirements.
• Conducts detailed planning of all Project Delivery activities and resources including budgeting, workforce planning and financial management
• Identifies interdependencies between concurrent projects and facilitate communication between Project Leads
• Provides senior-level project management skills to develop and implement strategic initiatives, including all aspects of project deployment particularly change management and project optimisation
• Ensures appropriate process compliance measurement functions are included where appropriate within the delivery scope of each project
• Ensures application project team activities are completed in a timely manner to the required level of quality that meets solution design requirements
• Confirms and signs-off on successful project completion and close-out
• Develops utilisation targets for the project teams ensuring members are highly utilised and have a clear line of site of their current and future workloads and documented individual accountabilities
• Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with emphasis on effective team work and personnel development. Experience in working across diverse geographies and cultures.
• Ensure project and engineering teams are appropriately trained in project management principles and Orica governance processes.
• Compliance with project governance processes and procedures, ensuring that they are applied universally across the programme.

What you will bring

• Minimum 10 years' experience in the management of capital projects in petrochemical / manufacturing, or mineral processing
• Proven influencer, able to manage processes across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Experience in implementing process improvement initiatives is desirable.
• Demonstrated skills associated with building strong vendor & customer relationships
• Financial acumen & budgeting experience.

Role dimensions

• Primary customer contact for project delivery at the Winnemucca CM site
• Manage all capital projects in portfolio
• Direct reports: 2-3 employees, multiple consultants and contingent workers engaged for projects
• Lead of a group - PMO Team
• Member of function - Asset Management, Manufacturing & Supply
