1st SHIFT (6:30am-5:00pm) Monday through Thursday

$17.15/hour

SUMMARY:
The Flex Operator performs a variety of production tasks to include bonding and assembly of high-quality products, filling, packing, and inspecting in a fast-paced production environment and meeting production quotas. This is a key production role, and the successful candidate must become skilled at set-up, filling, operating, and maintaining production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. The Flex Operator is responsible for ensuring machines produce high quality products, run smoothly, at capacity and are properly maintained. This position adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion. The Flex Operator must be flexible, must adapt to various tasks quickly and may work independently or as part of a team, under the direction of a lead person. The Flex Operator reports directly to the shift supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
General cleaning of machines and work area upon start-up and shutdown. Cleaning documented on a daily checklist.
Follow established procedures and instructions to bond and assemble products.
Maintains time and production documentation as required.
Inspect work in process to documented standards.
Promptly at workstation per work schedule (before / after breaks / lunches / shift start & end).
Inspects and verifies conformance of product to specifications contained in product routing.
Demonstrated ability to identify & communicate non-conformities and/or quality problems.
Escalates problems to appropriate support personnel within department.
Performs intermittent dimensional product inspections to determine product acceptance.
Works with the QA Department regarding nonconforming products.
Responsible for maintaining material and product traceability throughout the production process.
Packages and labels of finished product.
Sets up machines and equipment; assures timely and accurate retrieval of necessary materials to maintain production levels; anticipates shortages in components by looking ahead and correcting.
Performs periodic checks on equipment and solves problems as detected.
Responsible for operating machine at its optimal efficiency.
Follow company safety rules and regulations, including PPE usage.
Informs management of unsafe conditions or concerns of unsafe conditions.
Daily equipment maintenance.
May be required to work overtime.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Six months or more of related experience, technical school, and/or training.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Familiar with Microsoft Office products, ERP or MRP systems.
Must be technically inclined.
Must possess analytical skills.
Detail oriented.
Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
Computer literacy.
Ability to work on assigned line/process AND ability to work at pace for line/process to achieve shift goal.
Manual dexterity, good eye/hand coordination.
Basic Math skills.
Must be able to stand for extended period.
Flexibility/Adaptability.
Team player with ability to work independently.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and ability to work with others.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

Environmental Conditions:
The majority of time would be spent in the plant areas (clean room and warehouse) at moderate temperatures with the presence of machinery and power lifts.

Physical Capabilities:
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit with repeated bending, stretching, twisting, and lifting. Able to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.
