The Senior Plastics Engineer will be responsible for a variety of work such as evaluating current manufacturing processes and equipment, finding ways to improve, and implementing new initiatives. In this role you will manage large projects related to plastic materials and work cross functionally on the manufacturing floor.

Description

The Senior Plastics Engineer's essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize various statistical and data analysis tools within a structured problem-solving approach to characterize and enhance existing processes, ensuring translation of customer requirements into repeatable and capable manufacturing processes.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze multi-phase validation runs to assess whether new equipment, processes, and tooling meet functional performance requirements effectively.
  • Develop and uphold Project Charters and Implementation Plans, including defining project scope, anticipated benefits, necessary resources, timelines, and other relevant factors.
  • Serve as a technical liaison to development groups and actively participate in design/project review teams, contributing to the development of product and equipment specifications to ensure resulting processes are suitable for manufacturing.
  • Establish and implement control plans to ensure that project gains and improvements are achieved and maintained over time, contributing to overall operational excellence.

Profile

Minimum Requirements for the Senior Plastics Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Plastics Engineering, coupled with at least 7 years of industry experience. Consideration will be given to candidates with qualifications in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering fields, provided they demonstrate relevant knowledge and experience.
  • Proficient in applied statistics, process validation, root cause analysis, and Six Sigma Tools.
  • Experience with MiniTab statistical software.
  • Familiarity with textile and/or plastics manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in web management and converting processes.
