Job description
Job Summary: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a key clinical team member working alongside the Medical direction of ConvenientMD. The Licensed Practical Nurse will demonstrate proficiency in administering the fundamentals of nursing procedures, and contributes to nursing assessments. The LPN is provided with the education and skills of advanced patient assessment for the management of various medical illnesses and traumatic injuries, airway management, intravenous therapy (IV certification required in ME/NH), and pharmacological interventions. The LPN will work closely and in collaboration with other clinical team members to help guide and support accurate implementation of medical processes and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
- Patient triage, to include but not limited to: vital signs; medical history; observational examination.
- Supports nursing care standards through adherence to existing CMD policies and procedures.
- Assists with patient inquires, reporting test results, communicate medication / therapy treatment plan/s and or changes to medication / therapy treatment plan/s.
- Observe patients charting and reporting changes to medical condition/s and take necessary action.
- Provide accurate documentation of patient's medical history, records and reports with the support of the Electronic Medical Recording software.
- Nurse Care Triage to provide professional nursing assessments, prioritize treatments according to the urgency of need, and initiate medical care to patients arriving at the Urgent Care Clinic.
- Provides health care services to patients for laboratory testing, diagnostic testing, examination, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic and acute episodic illnesses and minor injuries.
- Performs Testing Procedures such as; Vision Testing, Hearing Or Audiometry Testing, Urine Drug Screen Testing, Breath Alcohol Testing, Lift Testing, Peak Flow Testing, Pulmonary Function Testing (Spirometry), Impact Testing, Ear Irrigation and Eye Wash Flushing.
- Perform Point of Care Testing such as; Strep, Flu, RSV, Sars-Cov-2, Capillary Glucose, Mono, HCG, Urinalysis, Fobt/Guaiac, Lipid Panel and Chemistry
- Perform Airway Management such as; Nebulizer Treatment, Oral Suctioning, Oropharyngeal And Nasopharyngeal Airway, Oxygen Administration and Ventilation with Ambu Bag.
- Perform Cardiac Management such as; 12 Lead ECG, AED and CPR.
- Performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available medical instruments and or equipment's. Medical procedures include but are not limited to; phlebotomy, suture and staple removal, insert and monitor peripheral venous access and treatment (IV certification required in ME/NH).
- Wound care assessment and management.
- Reporting of all Communicable Diseases.
- Administration of Immunizations in accordance with Federal and State regulations.
- Medication Administration in accordance with State regulations. All Medication calculations must be verified by a licensed medical provider and or Registered Nurse on site.
- Cleaning and sterilization of all medical instruments, equipment's and devices.
- Support to maintain clean, stocked, sterile work areas and examination rooms.
- Ensures operations of medical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following CMD policies and procedure for equipment repairs.
- Support to maintain an inventory of all medical supplies.
- Support in training and precepting new clinic team members.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Provide accurate documentation of patient's medical history, records and reports with the support of Electronic Medical Recording software.
- Observes patients, charting and reporting changes in conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and takes necessary actions.

Education and Credentials:
- State Licensed Practical Nurse, required.
- Basic Life Supports (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals (Online Courses & Certifications Not Accepted).
Experience:
- Two years of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse preferred.
- Two years of patient triage experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Department preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience using Medical Equipment.
- Experienced in IV insertion, IV Fluid administration, and assessment if IV systems preferred. (Needs to be Certified to do so in ME/NH)
