Squad Leader

Role

As a Fixed Income Product Owner, you blend investment management, relevant industry knowledge and an Agile mindset for delivering results with a passion. You are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad's mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities. In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps, and resource requirements. You will set and refine the mission and bring together a team of chapter members to execute. You will alignment the Squad on the “what” and “when” work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog. You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.

The Expertise We re Looking For

  • Bachelor s degree in business, computer science or engineering preferred.
  • 2+ years experience working as a Product Owner in a software development environment.
  • Experience designing, creating, and maintaining dynamic products and solutions.
  • Experience building roadmaps and working with agile team to deliver on milestones.
  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Exposure to Asset Management/Trading workflows is highly desirable.

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage our business partner who are investment professionals to understand their business needs to create requirements and strategy for the technical solutions which the squads will build.
  • Dedication to understanding and learning the user s needs and requirements as well as the proposed technology solutions to ensure they meet the business expectations.
  • Adept with coordinating collaborator meetings and facilitating prioritization decisions.
  • You are self-motivated, driven, and have a strong client focus and results orientation approach.
  • You have a strong focus on execution and identify, communicate, and remove impediments to progress.

The Value You Deliver

  • Defining, refining, and communicating the squads' mission and roadmap to empower and establish team and partner support and alignment.
  • Defining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteria.
  • Anticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the team.
  • Measuring performance against established objectives and critical metrics and delivering agreed upon business, technology, and people results.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with chapter leaders and scrum masters to build squad capacity and capability and enabling squad member growth, development, and learning.
  • Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines.
  • Participating in client meetings to present strategic roadmaps, participate in client usability sessions, engage with client user groups.
