Within Engineering, the successful candidate will perform Hardware Configuration Management (HCM) tasks including the fundamentals of Configuration Management: identification, change management, status accounting, audit and verification. With minimal direction, the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and ensuring successful execution of Hardware Configuration Management and activities per the Configuration Data Management Plan and BAE Systems policies and procedures. They will manage the change process and ensure that all changes go through appropriate change boards. They will ensure execution of CM processes across the lifecycle. This position also entails: Using software applications to document the configuration status accounting (CSA) data and maintain the data in a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
Identification and establishment of designated baselines and Bills of Material (BOM)
Providing support for the establishment of a Configuration Control Board in accordance with project milestones
Maintaining and overseeing a status accounting process including preparation and maintenance of a Configuration Item Verification Record (CIVR) that reflects current status of the end items for hardware
Coordinating the preparation of changes, which require customer approval of engineering change proposals (ECP) and provides for submission and subsequent action on receipt of approval/disapproval
Providing for necessary interface and communication with customers, subcontractors and hardware areas within program groups and the various company functional elements supporting the program group
Developing proposal preparation and costing information as well as completion estimates
Responsibility for providing hardware metricsIn this senior role, the HCM will be responsible for mentoring more junior HCMs in the execution of all HCM activities. The HCM must possess a strong understanding and a willingness to train others on HCM principles, and have comprehensive knowledge of company hardware configuration management processes and standards. They will stay current with industry standards and technology. Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 4+ years of related experience with BS
Strong Microsoft Office Skills
US citizen eligible for a DoD security clearance
Experience using PLM systems
Experienced in implementing principles of Configuration Management in either a product development or manufacturing environment. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Five or more years related experience.
Active Secret clearance
Familiarity with SAE ANSI/EIA-649B Configuration Management Standards
Experience working with government contracts
Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently with little direction
Experience with basic computer applications, databases, operating systems, and hardware Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
