The Therapy Technician provides clinical support to Physical Therapists and Occupational therapists during treatment implementation.

Responsibilities:
A day in the life of a Therapy Technician at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

1. Collaboration of operations with nursing team and therapy team to ensure timely transportation of patients to and from therapy.
2. Maintains smooth departmental operations by providing clerical and gym organizational support.
3. Maintains wheelchair and equipment distribution inventory.
4. Supervises therapeutic dining.
5. Emphasis on customer service developing a rapport and mutual respect with the patient/caregiver, as well as team members, to foster an optimum environment in support of goal achievement.
6. Participation in program development committees for professional and program quality growth.
7. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
8. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
2. Good communication skills.
3. Flexibility to multi-task.
4. Strong team oriented work ethics.
5. Ability to navigate computer systems, be flexible/adaptable, and have a positive attitude.
6. The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus.
7. Availability for weekend and Vacation rotation.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

1. Basic Life Saving (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
2. Previous experience as therapy technician.
