Job description
Scerbo Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation has a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Physical Therapist to join our team.

We are Physical Therapist owned and have a reputation for providing excellent care and customer service. We are a participating member of The Hospital for Special Surgery's Rehabilitation Network and perform the rehabilitation for some of the area's top orthopedists. Minimum Education & Experience (Including Licenses)
Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program or a Master's Degree with enrollment in a Post-professional DPT program.
Current licensure in the State of New Jersey as a Physical Therapist.
One year of experience, which includes demonstrated familiarity with orthopedic physical rehabilitation. However, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Specific Duties
Performs all duties and demonstrates behaviors consistent with Scerbo statements of Values and Principles.
Adheres to the NJ State Practice Act and other regulatory agencies.
Performs in an ethical manner in accordance with the APTA's professional Code of Ethics.
Possesses the skills and knowledge to communicate, perform treatments, assess and interpret age specific data and issues of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in their plan of care.
Evaluates assigned patients and establishes appropriate treatment goals and treatment programs.
Provides ongoing evaluation of patients and goals; modifies treatment program for timely progression.
Provides comprehensive goal-directed patient treatment to maximize patient outcomes.
Coordinates treatment program needs with other practitioners and community resources as appropriate.
Provides for patient education to include the development of a comprehensive and progressive home program with instruction to patient, family and assistive personnel as appropriate.
Identifies, responds and reports acute changes in patient status. Follows appropriate emergency procedures to insure patient safety.
Prepares for patient discharge including equipment and recommendation for continuum of care. Evaluates patient's home, community or work environment in cooperation with other therapeutic departments when appropriate.
Identifies and manages the various levels of care necessary to insure care plan delivery. Delegates and supervises the utilization of Physical Therapy Assistant and supportive personnel to maximize patient outcomes and insure effective utilization of services.
Completes medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate and timely manner using approved format in compliance with state, federal and intermediary guidelines.
Directs and monitors supportive staff to insure effective utilization of services.
Exhibits effective communication skills at multiple levels of the rehabilitation team.
Demonstrates awareness of facility needs for optimal operation and initiates methods and demonstrates effective judgment to enhance facility functions. Demonstrates flexibility, team building, active participation in departmental committees and functions (i.e.: coverage, staff meetings) to promote an efficient and positive work environment.
Serves as a mentor to staff creating a positive learning environment and assisting in their clinical development. Participates in in-service education and pursues professional development through continuing education, self-study, serving as a clinical instructor and involvements in professional activities/or organizations.
Provides positive learning environment for assigned students with appropriate supervision, development of objectives and completion of implementation.
Performs other duties as requested.
