Job Summary

The Estimator position is responsible for material takeoffs for proposed projects. This incumbent review plans and specifications relative to the schedule and scope of work and works closely with sales team to coordinate estimated pricing of projects.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Review electronic 2D/3D drawings

Communicate with professional vendors

Communicate with management, finance and sales

Work with Quality, Environmental, H&S employees to ensure and maintain compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards of Quality

Has the obligation to be aware of and comply with environmental, safety policies and regulations and always endures duties of high-quality standards

Job Requirements

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general 2D/3D drawings, business correspondence and RFQ documentation

Effectively present information and respond to questions from management team/sales team regarding pricing

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Knowledge of structural design and structural steel pricing considered a plus.

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or at least 2 years of specific experience and/or training related to the essential functions of the job; or equivalent combination of education and training.
