Job description

This role will oversee the inventory and cost accounting for the overall American Manufacturing plants in both NY & NJ.They will be doing 60%, Cost Accounting work 20% ERP Implementation, and 20% managing a team of 2 Direct Reports.

Description

  • Coordinates product cost process including calculating, reviewing and analyzing machine and labor hours, overhead costs and allocations, production rates, raw material costs and manufacturing process changes. This would require working with multiple departments and/or individuals to determine the proper metrics.
  • Analyzes actual manufacturing expenses and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Provides management and various departments with detailed reports for use in making business decisions and controlling expenditures
  • Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Manages monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements.
  • Provides accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff; responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs
  • Prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval. Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary.

Profile

  • Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of cost accounting experience, food & beverage manufacturing
  • 2+ Years of people management experience
  • ERP implementation knowledge
  • Ability for flexible travel around the NY/NJ area
