OrderlyReq #: Category:Transport Status:Per Diem Shift:Day Facility:Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Department:Patient Transport Location: Newark Beth Israel Medical Ctr, 201 LYONS AVENUE, NEWARK, NJ Job Overview: TheOrderlyis responsible for assisting in maintaining maximum work. This position is responsible to ensure the proper transporting for different testing areas and blood specimens to the lab and to ensure the daily living and provides care to patients. Also assist with maintaining the patient care areas around the Emergency Room and equipment in a clean and organized matter. Qualifications: Required: + Successful completion of all orientation programs and competencies with documentation + Behavioral Emergency (Best Training) within 6 months of hire Scheduling Requirements: + Per Diem is based on department needs so flexibility in availability is a requirement. This will be on the Day shift as needed. + Weekends may be required. Essential Functions: + Assists staff in transportation of patients from bed to stretcher and from stretcher to bed, assists in lifting and positioning of patients. Prepares/assists patient for discharge + Communicates/ reports pertinent information, patient complaints, problem and any untoward signs, symptoms or unusual occurrences immediately to appropriate patient care provider + Assists staff in obtaining stock supplies, and equipment for each designated area/rooms. Maintains/adjusts par levels of supplies, linen, blankets, solutions as demands increases or decreases + Demonstrates the ability to transport patients to and from all units within the hospital environment. Follows hospital policy and procedures in identification of patient.
