Inspects, maintains, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance duties for hospital equipment. Is able to perform semi-skilled work including but not limited to painting, carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing repairs. Performs minor repairs in non-clinical patient care equipment. Assists in environmental duties pertaining to outside grounds. Completes all paperwork related to the job.
Responsibilities:
Inspects, test, maintains, adjusts and makes minor repairs of furniture, office equipment, hospital equipment as well as plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
Performs minor repairs on hospital structures including but not limited to doors, floors, ceilings, and locks.
Secures shelving, etc., to masonry, walls, and other structures.
Repairs and replace defective electrical cords, heating elements, motors and lights.
Refurbishes/repairs walls, floors and ceilings including spackling and painting.
Performs preventive maintenance on all hospital equipment.
Interprets basic blueprints.
Maintains on a daily basis a clean work area observing all safety regulations.
Required to complete paperwork in a manner that can be clearly understood.
Must lift and carry material related to the job.
May be required to leave the hospital to obtain supplies with a hospital supplies vehicle.
Required to work alone for shift coverage, holidays, weekends, vacation, and sick time.
Ensures delivery of excellent customer service resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for department and Medical Center.
Assembles equipment.
Performs duties on hospital exterior grounds as well as in the building.
Assists in snow removal of grounds maintenance.
Assists plumber, carpenter, electrician, and outside contractors as assigned.
Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies.
Maintains equipment and tools utilized in performing job functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be prepared to respond to hospital emergencies, fire drills, Plan A & B, Dr. Armstrong, as detailed in Policy and Procedure manual.
Observes all Policies and Procedures set forth by PMC, the Maintenance Department, OSHA, NJDOH and JCAHO.
May be required to use chemicals wearing the appropriate PPE.
Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
High School graduate.
1-2 years experience in a similar position.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Trade school or vocational school Licenses and Certifications Required:
Valid NJ driver s license
