Job description
Hampton Ridge Healthcare & Rehabilitation is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Transcriptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for converting audio recordings and dictated notes into accurate written documents. The ideal candidate will have excellent typing skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of medical terminology.
Key Responsibilities:
Transcribe audio recordings from healthcare professionals into written documents accurately and efficiently.
Ensure that all transcripts are error-free, formatted correctly, and adhere to company standards.
Review and edit transcripts for clarity, grammar, and punctuation.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient information and records.
Organize and manage transcription files, ensuring they are easily accessible and stored securely.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any unclear audio or terminology.
Stay updated on medical terminology and industry standards to improve transcription accuracy.
Provide timely completion of all transcription assignments to meet deadlines.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a transcriptionist, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
Excellent typing skills, with a minimum typing speed of insert speed, e.g., 60 words per minute .
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain high accuracy in transcriptions.
Proficient in using transcription software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
High school diploma or equivalent; a certification in medical transcription is preferred.
