The Sup, Pathology Business Office is focused on delighting patients and guests by providing exemplary customer service. This position oversees and ensures the daily administrative tasks for the pathology offices in the Southern Region campuses ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timely service. Acts as liaison between patients/guests and pathologists. Collaborates with the Laboratory Customer Service team to support proper billing procedures are completed and problems are reconciled.
Responsibilities:
Performance Improvement & Quality Assurance: Properly organizes and maintains all documentation pertaining to Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement and Departmental Dashboards. Ongoing monitoring of Sunquest Callback Module, Remote Based Printing (RBR) and order entry of all patient specimens. Reports occurrences in a timely manner and follows up on all issues generated by Outreach clients, other departments or Medical Staff. Collaborates with laboratory departments to triage pathology specimens, billing inquiries, and communication of testing results.
Involved with Pathology Quality Assurance including putting together histology and pathology QA records. For instance, the AP dashboard across the designated locations.
Manage invoicing, purchase orders, and accounts payable. Interfaces directly with the reference labs, consulting locations, and addresses invoices that are due. Sets up proper invoicing processes, monitors POs and renews as needed, as well as, reconciles incorrect billing,
Policy Development: Coordinates the implementation of new administrative protocols, policies and procedures for Business Office and assures a smooth transition process.
Problem Resolution: Ensures that medical problems are referred to the Laboratory Manager / Director 100% of the time. Assess and reconcile problems between the Laboratory and Outreach clients, other hospital departments or medical staff adequately and efficiently.
Procedure Manual: Partners with Laboratory Leaders in the review of SOP manuals to meet regulatory requirements, assures annual review of SOP with appropriate documentation.
People Management - Supervision and oversight of the business office staff: Recruits, orients and trains new staff, conducts employee coaching and counseling, completes performance assessments of clerical staff. Ensures the day to day operations run efficiently.
Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of experience, preferably in a customer-oriented environment.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Prior supervisory experience
