Project/Unit Description The Enterprise Knowledge Management and Assurance Division (EKMAD) / Albuquerque Branch of the Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Branch Head. This position involves leadership of a growing team, resource forecasting and management, coordination with the Project Support Branch (ATL) and the Base Program Manager as well as technical leadership to the program in the form of archival best practices in the execution of a sponsored research project.
The Albuquerque and Project Support Branches, as part of EKMAD, support knowledge and technical transfer of information as well as archiving of material and data that are significant to current and future sponsor research and development activities. The Advanced Concepts Laboratory develops tailored solutions for a broad range of national security challenges through disciplined application of physics- and effects-based modeling to realizable systems, augmented with prototype development and testing. ACL's research thrusts extend across domains, and include bio-, chemical-, RF-, and optical-sensor physics; materials science and engineering; electromagnetic theory, computation, structures, and measurements; electronic warfare techniques and applications; operational scenario modeling and simulation; traditional and asymmetric threat analysis; and ground maneuver warfare. Job Purpose Lead multiple sponsored research projects. Manage Branch (7-15 FTE) administrative activities including hiring, appraisals and sponsored project success. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership of internal programs, projects, and tasks to include management of branch overhead budgets and spending Develops and executes plans for the growth and sustainment of the branch Coordinate with division and lab management, computer support, human resources and other support organizations Lead branch hiring activities including development of position vacancy announcements, resume reviews, interviews and onboarding Work closely with local RS and IA team members Engage with government sponsors to market branch/program capabilities Engage with government sponsors to market branch/program capabilities Develops methods or tools to perform research tasks to meet project objectives Lead or contribute to the development of whitepapers and project proposals Executing Archival Best Practices Complex Inventory Management Perform other duties as assigned Required Minimum Qualifications Significant professional archival experience Project task management experience Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Current on archival best practices, standards, and processes Project budgeting and monitoring experience Extreme attention to detail Self starter Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications Active TS/SCI Clearance Project management and/or operations management experience Degree in Library and/or Information Science Knowledge of existing and emerging digital technologies Extensive experience with content management systems specific to archives Experience migrating to a new content management system a plus Travel Requirements Education and Length of Experience This position vacancy is an open-rank announcement.
