Job description

Duties You will provide and maintain available, reliable, and secure, information systems services to recruiting personnel. You will install the operating system and all required software applications on all end user computing devices (e.g. workstations, laptops, tablets, smartphones, Internet connected devices). You will configure, triage, troubleshoot, and diagnose hardware, software, printing, multifunction devices, telephone systems, unified communications systems (Voice Over Internet Protocol , Video Teleconference) and wireless mobile devices. You will triage, troubleshoot, and diagnose hardware/software interoperability problems. You will maintain customer hardware by performing required repairs. You will install or remove components on computers, MFDs and other IS systems and/or diagnose, triage, and resolve hardware and software problems. You will evaluate, research, report trends and patterns in customer support issues. You will create, track, and manage Service Desk Tickets and data in support of enterprise wide IT Service Management initiatives. You will create and manage user accounts with appropropriate user's rights to access network systems. You will establish and monitor telecommunications requirements. You will assist staff in identifying and purchasing new equipment and services to meet the operational needs while in compliance with policies and directives. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS . You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. You will be required to obtain and maintain a DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II certification and operations system CE within six months of hiring. Qualifications I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: verifying hardware and software and equipment are in accordance with DOD policy and directives. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Maintaining customer hardware and resolving software problems in response to customer reported incidents. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Working with personnel to plan, coordinate and resolve issues by influencing people to work towards mutual goals and have basic cooperative attitudes. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Troubleshooting, diagnosing hardware/software interoperability problems by repairing and applying software patches. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Installing and troubleshooting customer hardware and software to ensure security is maintained through Information Assurance such as network access and end points. Education In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows: I have successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or I have successfully completed LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position being filled or I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
