Join the transformation and help us make this impact now. We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our RF Systems Sector. This key position will interact with and support teams and customers in a dynamic and product development-focused environment. We are seeking the right individual who will be a self-motivated, organized individual with a strong background in technology manufacturing/production in association with federal government activities, especially in the defense industry for both terrestrial and space-based product offerings. This position is at the professional level and will require candidates to lead and develop a growing quality organization. Responsibilities Experience as a Quality Engineer in defense product development and manufacturing supporting government contracts. Communicate effectively and articulately with customers and auditors in a manner that represents the company positively and fairly for quality-related issues. Assists in the review of contracts and purchase orders to ensure the product is compliant with all customer requirements. Utilize Lean Tools such as Pareto Charts, SPC, DMAIC, and 5S to improve FPY, reduce scrap, and improve cycle time. Assist in migration from ISO9001 to AS9100 Perform internal audits of AS9100 and customer requirements, engage in follow-up for effectiveness, and hold accountable and help departments to close out NC's, RMA's or CAPA's from the audits. Report metrics monthly Assist in the management of training compliance (i.e., ESD, J-Std, IPC-A-610, etc.) Support the launching of new production lines and assist in FAI package completion, submittal, and approval process. Create, review, obsolete, and document existing and new SOP's (as needed), drawings, and ECN's. Support source inspections at the supplier's premises, when required Responsible for the completion of all quality-related customer surveys and documentation. Assist in the implementation of risk matrixes and metrics of processes to be improved. Track CAR's and SCAR's by identifying the root cause of returned products and using CAPA to mitigate Develop and implement Quality Control Plans including FMEA. Work with others on product quality issues and respond to customer questions regarding quality issues. Obtain, administer, and maintain various company and product-related certifications and qualifications. Assist in managing incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) and Quality Conformance Inspection (QCI) functions of the Quality Department Qualifications US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Or equivalent experience such as a minimum of 5 years in an Engineering role if non-degreed. Training in Lean and 6-Sigma, a plus Certified to J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610, a plus
