Systems Engineer Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM This position supports the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Rapid Architecture Prototyping and Integration Development (RAPID) laboratory. RAPID is developing, testing, and transitioning architectures and technologies that support Future Force Design in coordination with the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC) vision for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force. Responsibilities Creation and/or review of operational concepts Creation or input for systems, software, component, subsystem requirements Creation of external and internal interface definitions Creation or inputs of preliminary designs Creation and/or review of algorithms Creation of traceability matrix of higher-level requirements to lowest level requirements Support and organize allocation of requirements to engineering disciplines Participation in trade studies Participation in peer reviews Creation of test plans Creation of test procedures and reports Participation in customer meetings Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an engineering, computer science, or related field. 5-7 years' work experience or equivalent experience in a technical discipline (hardware, systems, etc.) Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain it Proof of U.S. citizenship Must be able to complete and pass a U.S. government background investigation Must be able to attain and hold a DoD Top Secret security clearance and handle/safeguard sensitive classified information in accordance with regulations Must be able to demonstrate ability to work both independently and in a team environment Preferred Experience Excellent written and communication skills Digital Engineering and/or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience Modeling and simulation experience Experience working in government-contractor teams Current security clearance About Aegis Aerospace We are a woman-owned space and technology company headquartered in Houston, TX.
