Description Position Type: Full-time, Non-exempt Work Location: White Sands Missile Range, NM Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. SA-TECH provides realistic threat capabilities for Operational and Developmental testing and training with the U.S. Army in numerous locations throughout the country. We are currently looking to hire an Electronics Technician, Maintenance I/II at Orogrande, NM to support our efforts at White Sands Missile Range. The Electronics Technician Maintenance I/II applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. This position requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and solid judgment in planning work sequences, selecting tools and utilizing testing instruments. The work, performed under supervision, will be reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician will receive technical guidance, as required, from a supervisor or higher-level technicians. Typical basic duties include (but are not limited to): Cross-training and utilization into other positions that fall within our scope of work.
Apply technical knowledge of electronics, mechanical, and computer skills in support of operations and routine maintenance on EW & Radar systems and their peripheral equipment.
Set up EW & Radar systems at remote locations, operate the systems in support of test missions and tear down the systems once testing is complete.Work Conditions: Conditions and temperatures will vary as most of the work will be accomplished outdoors on the ranges.
Work will include roughly 45% standing, 25% walking, 20% sitting, 5% reaching, and 5% lifting.
Must be capable of lifting 50-100 pounds with assistance from others.
Shift hours vary according to mission requirements.
Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
Requirements Education/Experience/Skills: High School diploma and a 2-year Associate's Degree or appropriate military training. 2-year Associate's Degree or appropriate military training required for Level II Four or more years' experience in Electro-mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation-related experience in basic RF and electronics may supplement education for Level II. Working knowledge of computer systems and software.
Fluency with computers, use of test equipment (such as Spectrum Analyzers, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes), and basic hand tools to support EW & Radar systems.
Must be able to work independently supporting operations and maintenance efforts with minimal direction. Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be able to deploy to both CONUS and OCONUS.
Valid US Driver License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of your work employment.
Ability to obtain a Class B License.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Must obtain a U.S. DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to start and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
