Job description

Duties Perform Information Technology functions in support of areas such as research, development, test, and evaluation conducted at White Sands Missile Range. Establish items such as local and wide area communications, including single line phones, multiline phones, and data circuits, range support systems, simulations, and tactical devices Manage items such as network and system configuration and connections using approved database applications (trouble tickets/work orders). Perform analyses of areas such as mission requirements, operational problems, and communications configurations. Review communications to ensure that mission support services are provided. Conduct tasks such as the installation, maintenance, mission operation, testing and troubleshooting of an Information Technology and telecommunications systems and equipment. Determine the extent of malfunctions existing in equipment such as digital and analog to include network, microwave and carrier systems and equipment. Perform operational readiness/acceptance testing of newly installed systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the duration of your employment. One-year trial/probationary period may be required. This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time. The position is designated IAT II and must be Information Assurance trained and certified IAW DoD Directive 8570.1-M, AR 25-2, and as detailed in the Information Assurance (IA) Training and Certification within six months of appointment.
