Job description

Duties Assist with the management of scheduling, maintenance, and justifications of patrol vehicles, duty equipment, supply needs and accountability of property book items. Perform functions related to the acquisition, accounting, storage, issue, inventory, repair, calibration and turn in of durable, expendable and nonexpendable supplies and equipment and services. Maintain certification as a guard assigned to perform duties consisting of motor patrols and fixed posts. Support Lead Security Guard (Training Instructor) to present platform and practical instruction to SDF security guards. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the duration of your employment. The incumbent of this position must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. This position may require the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time. This position requires a pre-employment and annual physical examination. Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons. Position required initial and annual physical ability test (must pass initial PAT within 30 days of hiring date). Position requires the selectee to meet personal qualifying factors/requirements and remain qualified for the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP). Position will require shift work (to include change in work shift as necessary) that may encompass fluctuating tours of duty, evening, nights, weekends, holidays and Overtime. This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations incumbent is required to report to work to support mission operations Position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg amendment to the gun control act of 1968 and is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban. Employee must be trained and maintain current required certifications in CPR and first aid.
