Position Summary:
THE FOCUS IS YOU:
We are looking to add an Audit Staff Accountant that is eager to develop the fundamental knowledge and technical skills in accounting and Audit & Assurance, to be able to ascend into a position helping lead and guide our clients.
As an Audit Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for performing the necessary procedures involved in planning and executing attestation engagements for clients in accordance with the applicable accounting standards. An Audit Staff Accountant will assist Audit Seniors and Managers with tasks and projects assigned, work on a diverse client base, and gain exposure to a variety of industries operating in the private and public sector.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Regular duties include (but are not limited to):
Perform and assist with audits, reviews and compilations for clients in various industries
Prepare and analyze financial statements and evaluate internal controls
Assist with the coordination of the day-to-day duties of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up
Deep understanding of accounting and reporting standards
Develop reasonable time budgets and coordinate audit requests to meet time constraints and client deadlines
Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from the client to the audit team is efficient
Communicate with Client, Management, and Managing Director on work status and client issues that arise
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience
1+ years in relevant position
Demonstrated knowledge of basic business, technology, or audit principles/standards
Education
Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent technology experience
Bachelor's in Accounting (for Audit or Tax)
Master's degree or 150 credits completed, in designated states
License / Certification
Actively working toward passing the CPA Exam, or relevant certification for respective discipline as soon as possible, if certification is not already attained
Must maintain required CPE credits annually
Legal / Compliance
Must complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards document
Governmental engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government

For job postings in our Albany location, we are required by law to include a good faith salary range for every job, promotion, and transfer opportunity in accordance with the New York Human Rights Law. This range considers many factors, including but not limited to a candidate's knowledge, job specific skills, experience, licensure, and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $62,500 to $70,000.
