Responsibilities


  • Inspect incoming shipments of scrap metal for quality and type.

  • Sort metals into designated categories such as aluminum, copper, steel, and others.

  • Operate machinery and equipment used in the sorting process safely and effectively.

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, minimizing hazards and promoting safety.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily sorting and production targets.

  • Report any contaminants or impurities found during the sorting process.

  • Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.



Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • Previous experience in a similar role or recycling environment is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to distinguish between various metal types.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

  • Familiarity with safety procedures in a recycling or industrial setting.
