Responsibilities

Sort and categorize incoming scrap materials based on type and condition.

Operate and maintain machinery and equipment used in the scrap processing chain.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols while working in the yard.

Load and unload materials from trucks and containers efficiently and safely.

Record and document inventory of scrap materials and report discrepancies.

Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the scrap yard to promote a safe working environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a scrap yard or construction environment is preferred.

Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.

Basic knowledge of different types of scrap materials and recycling processes.
