Job Summary:

As a Mechanic you will oversee and perform the preventative and reactive maintenance duties required for the plant manufacturing operation.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on semi-trucks, forklifts and trailers
  • Conduct inspections to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems
  • Weld and fabricate parts as needed, is a plus
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
  • Ensure OSHA compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Requirements:

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency in troubleshooting and repair techniques
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, including wiring, motors, and control panels
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Proficient in welding and fabrication techniques, are a plus
  • Knowledge of logic controllers and automation systems are a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in minor semi-truck repairs including tires and brakes
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education preferred.
  • CDL Class A or B Driver license is a Plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift loads of up to 100 pounds without the lift truck.
  • Ability to climb, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to withstand varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to work in different positions for a very long period of time and ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel or walk for up to eight (8) hours at a time.
  • Must be able to utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment required for each job task (Steel toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat).
