Overview:
The Assistant Group leader supports and assists staff in carrying out all planned educational and enrichment activities for the after-school enrichment and recreational program.
Reports To: PROGRAM DIRECTOR, CS 300
Location: 2050 Prospect Avenue, Bronx New York 10457
Hours: 18 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt
SALARY: $16/hr
Major Duties:
Assist the group leader with activities, including sports and recreation, educational, arts and craft and special events.
Collect attendance folder and other data.
Distribute lunches and snacks and assist with clean-up.
Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program.
Support activity instructor with lessons.
Collaborate with group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years old.
Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and ability to work with other youth.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment.
Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
