At a Glance
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Supply Chain Manager to join the Data Center Power & Control Division. This is a Remote position reporting to Farmingdale, NY. This role is responsible for managing all activities associated with purchasing and supply chain including the development and execution of end-to-end supply chain processes to reduce total costs while improving service levels for the business.
What Will You Do?
Collaboratively set the sourcing strategy working with strategic sourcing, by evaluating make vs. buy, life cycle costing, sole-sourcing, and risk management.
Engage with internal stakeholders and strategic sourcing to develop the sourcing strategy and determine the needs for new suppliers based on new or redesigned product lines.
Delegate daily activities to the purchasing team.
Continually identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements to redirect efforts toward higher-value activities and improved product availability.
Develop policies and practices for the purchasing organization when necessary.
Establish and manage a master production plan for designated made-to-stock (MTS) and made-to-order (MTO) products. Utilize existing production planning tools and create new tools as needed to plan production (capacity) taking into account sales forecasts, historical sales, inventory, supply chain, and new business opportunities.
Use capacity planning tools to make necessary recommendations to the Production Managers, Operations Directors, and other functional areas to ensure finished goods are produced on time and within established lead times. Recommendations may include outsourcing manufacturing to qualified vendors.
Acts as the liaison between Product Management, Engineering, Customer Service/Sales, Sourcing, and Manufacturing to make delivery commitments. Report regularly the adherence to the production schedule and report any deviations that may result in delays in service to customers.
Work across functions to obtain data and evaluate cost savings.
Contribute to the development of annual operating plans and budgets.
Contribute as needed to achieve business, divisional, and overall company business objectives.
Effectively manage a team toward successful business outcomes, employee performance, engagement, and development.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is required.
APICS certification of CPIM and/or CSCP certification is preferred.
Experience:
5+ years of demonstrated success in purchasing and/or sourcing positions of increasing responsibility is required.
At least a year of Management experience is required.
Ability to travel up to 50 percent; primarily domestic and some international could be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a sourcing/purchasing function is required.
Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the supply chain: sourcing strategy, sheet metal manufacturing industry, product, and supplier familiarity is preferred.
Proven ability to formulate financial and operating plans and drive actual results is required.
Strong organizational, management, and time management skills, close attention to detail, and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities. Able to evaluate situations, identify options, and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
Strong strategic planning and analytic skills, and a proven capacity for rendering cost-conscious, objective business decisions are required.
Must be well organized and capable of handling a variety of issues and assignments within the organization.
Must be able to manage effectively in a matrix organization, influence, and negotiate across boundaries.
Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to supervise and manage others, is required.
Demonstrated ability to think at both a strategic and tactical level and must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas.
Requires excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills to effectively handle multiple priorities.
Highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and conflict-resolution skills are required.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Salary: $135,000-$175,000 base plus bonus
